- DESCRIPTION -
Participants who have been given access to the ePACE portal for a selection of courses administered by the PACE academy are advised to use the "Check if my computer is ready" service to ensure that the notebook used has all required software installed and updated. This is to ensure the smooth running of our e-learning suite.
- PROBLEM -
However, due to the frequency of updates and version releases by Microsoft, Apple and other software developers, the diagnostics test may not respond accurately at times. Users may experience similar errors, such as the following, even after updating the software required:
- SOLUTIONS -
Users are encouraged to perform the following steps:
Step 1: Install / Update / Reinstall the software required
It is worthwhile to do a check or by simply reinstalling the software indicated namely: (i) Shockwave Flash (ii) Shockware for Director (iii) Java by clicking on the corresponding links.
Step 2: Run the test again
This is to find out whether the test is working properly. If it shows the same "Update Now" result against one or more software which you had already reinstalled, then you may ignore this set of results.
Clearing cache on the same browser or using another new browser (IE or Firefox etc.) might help as well.
Step 3: Logging in
Having being satisfied that the required software and configurations are updated and correct. You may proceed to login in using your SingPass account by clicking on the SingPass icon. (SingPass with 2FA authentication is required)
Step 4: Determine the courseware
If you are able to log in, click on the My Tasks option on the top menu bar. You should then see your course title displayed below. You may refer to the following screenshot as an example:
Click on the course title and it should launch the e-learning suite normally, from which you may proceed with your online e-learning course.
